Learn ADHD

Our footnote that 'we are teachers, not medical professionals' isn't just for show. The approach we take to ADHD is about learning, not diagnosis.

ADHD is essentially an internal disregulation of attention and hyperactivity. However, certain observable elements can not only be seen in our students but can have a severe effect on learning if simply ignored

These observable elements come down to seven areas that we can see in our classrooms

Our pedagogy addressed how we can support ADHD learning by developing:

  • practical approaches to lesson delivery

  • structures to allow students to succeed

  • developing ADHD-friendly written materials, including worksheets and slideshows

  • raising awareness of how ADHD can be managed

What we have learnt is that these approaches do not undermine the learning of non-ADHD students but enhance it without stigmatising.

Our aim is always to make inclusive classrooms ADHD-friendly.
