OFSTED, SEND and Statutory Guidance

Inclusive learning

At Jackdawrooks, our work with schools is firmly grounded in current UK statutory guidance. All of our training programmes are explicitly aligned with national expectations, including the OFSTED Inspection Framework and the SEND Code of Practice.

We help schools interpret these documents thoughtfully and practically, supporting staff in moving beyond compliance towards confident, inclusive practice that stands up to scrutiny.

This includes inspection-ready scripts for all stakeholders, helping teachers, middle and senior leadership, support staff, and parents articulate inclusive practice.

We also include clear links to relevant frameworks, allowing you to demonstrate inclusive learning in action.

OFSTED Inspection Framework

OFSTED inspections consider how effectively schools support all learners, not just SEND learners. ADHD is not simply a 'learning disability' and must be looked at in all aspects, including traits that are not obvious or disruptive.

Inspectors draw on the Education Inspection Framework, alongside published handbooks and research reviews, to evaluate curriculum intent, implementation and impact, leadership, and inclusion.

Jackdawrooks training supports school leaders and staff to understand how inclusive practice, curriculum decisions and everyday classroom approaches are viewed through an OFSTED lens, and support the full range of ADHD presentations.

Key statutory documents:

Education Inspection Framework (OFSTED) - School inspection handbook

SEND Code of Practice (0–25)

The SEND Code of Practice sets out the legal duties schools must follow to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. It underpins expectations around identification, provision, collaboration with families and agencies, and inclusive practice across academic settings.

Our training programmes are designed with this statutory framework at their core. We work with schools to strengthen understanding of SEND duties and translate statutory expectations into effective, inclusive practice.

From Statutory Guidance to Confident Practice

Statutory guidance sets clear expectations, but schools must interpret how these translate into inclusive classroom practice, professional development and leadership decision-making.

Jackdawrooks training programmes are tailored to our different school roles, recognising that responsibilities and perspectives vary.
